Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprise Agency temporarily sealed a business outlet with the initials HMI in Tambora, West Jakarta.
Officers found Class A alcoholic beverage products
The sealing was carried out because the outlet was distributing Class A alcoholic beverages at retail without a permit. The discovery was made during officers' surveillance at a shopping center in West Jakarta.
Liquor Raids in East Jakarta Continue to Be Intensified"Officers found Class A alcoholic beverage products on display and being sold at retail," said Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, head of the agency.
Based on the inspection of licensing documents through the OSS RBA (Online Single Submission Risk-Based Approach) system and direct verification, it is known that the HMI outlet is engaged in retail trade and has a general trading business permit.
However, the business licensing data for the outlets examined showed that HMI did not yet have a verified Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) specifically for alcoholic beverages, which had been verified in an active NIB. Furthermore, HMI outlets also lacked a retail license for Class A alcoholic beverages (SKP-A).
Ratu explained that administratively, PT HMI committed a number of violations. These included selling Class A alcoholic beverages without a permit, conducting business activities not specifically listed in the business permit, and failing to comply with regulations regarding the control and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
"The agency has carried out temporary sealing of Class A alcoholic beverage products. As well as providing written warnings to business actors to immediately fulfill licensing obligations," she explained.
Ratu confirmed that the agency will routinely monitor trade activities in the Jakarta area during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
This is to ensure the availability of goods needed by the community, ensure the distribution of goods is in accordance with applicable regulations, and provide a sense of security and comfort for consumers when shopping.
"The increase in economic activity during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr periods needs to be balanced with consistent supervision so that all business actors carry out their business activities in an orderly, honest and permit-compliant manner," she stated.
